The Iowa Archeological Society (IAS) is once again offering a $1,000 student-oriented research grant in honor of Doug Jones, a long-time State Historical Society of Iowa employee who unexpectedly passed away in late 2016. It’s an easy application due May 1, 2024 for use anytime during the following 12 months (starting May 15, 2024)

The 12th Annual Fulbright Intensive Workshop is an opportunity for students to hear from Fulbright grantees and alumni, Fulbright Faculty Mentors, and the Associate Director of International Fellowships, Karen Wachsmuth, to learn more about the process of applying for a Fulbright. Undergraduate and graduate students from all fields are encouraged to join.

The OUR Travel Award offers UI undergraduate researchers the opportunity to present their research or exhibit their creative projects at conferences and conventions. This Fall 15 students received OUR Travel Awards for conferences, annual meetings, print fairs and piano conventions.

FURF 2023 had 120+ students presenting their research or creative projects. Check out some of the photos from the event. Another chance for students to present will be the 2024 Spring Undergraduate Research Festival which will take place on Wednesday, April 3rd. Applications will be accepted starting in January.
Fall 2023 Supply Grant Recipients

This Fall OUR has awarded ten students with a Research Supply Grant! Grants of up to $1,000 are available for research and creative work expenses including equipment, supplies, software, travel to access facilities not available on campus, travel to access collections or materials not available on campus, interviews (research related), on location filming, etc. Applications for Spring will be open January 15th, 2024.
