The Office of Undergraduate Research's Fall and Spring Undergraduate Research Festivals (FURF and SURF) are held in celebration and recognition of undergraduate researchers' contributions to research, scholarly, and creative work at the University of Iowa.

Undergraduate Research Conference

The Undergraduate Research Conference was created for students by students to give UI's undergraduates a low-risk space to learn about undergraduate research.  Students gather for a 3 hour conference (with food!) to hear from a faculty speaker, learn about what undergraduate research is, and find out how to get involved.

Each year, 20 students from each university bring research posters to display at Iowa's Statehouse. Students use their posters as a backdrop to discuss their work with Iowa's legislators. This event also allows students to practice discussing their work with officials, outlining the community/global impact, educational benefits, and importance of their research.
