Research in the Capitol (RIC) takes students to the Iowa Statehouse to talk to Iowa's legislators about research and creative scholarship at all three regent universities (UI, ISU, and UNI).
Each year, 20 students from each university bring research posters to display at Iowa's Statehouse. Students use their posters as a backdrop to discuss their work with Iowa's legislators. This event provides students with an opportunity to practice discussing their work with officials and the public, outlining the community/global impact, educational benefits, and importance of their research.
All undergraduate students who are involved in research or creative work in any field are invited to apply for this event. In order to qualify to present at this event, students must be available to be in Des Moines for the day (approximately 8:00AM - 5:00PM)
