The Tung Lab is focused on the development of novel genomic technologies in the diagnosis of rare cancers and blood disorders. We study the roles of both somatic and germline genetic variants in various cancer predisposition syndromes, with a specific interest in hereditary hematological malignancies and inherited bone marrow failure syndromes. The University of Iowa is hosting a two-week, paid summer camp/mini-internship focused on advancing undergraduate students’ knowledge in weather prediction, local weather intelligence assessment, and resilience in agricultural communities. This immersive program, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF)’s EPSCoR program (award #2420405.), will provide hands-on training and exposure to cutting-edge technologies to 40 students.

If you are participating in research, you may be an excellent candidate for the Undergraduate Certificate in Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS). Participating in this program is especially beneficial for students who are considering attending a health professions school or graduate school.
