The BEST program is for 10 weeks, on campus. Students will be paid for working 40 hours/week along with a housing stipend of up to $1000

Project and Position Details AI models are increasingly used to map floods, land cover, and urban change from satellite imagery and other geospatial data. But these models can be confidently wrong, and their errors are often concentrated in particular places, such as rural or data-scarce regions, where decisions may matter most. This project develops methods to measure, explain, and correct where and why geospatial AI fails, so that its outputs can be used responsibly.

The Boudreau Lab is working to discover new genes that regulate healthy heart functions. We are looking for energetic students who are interested in learning advanced techniques to help us with general lab duties.

The Harshman Research Group is seeking an undergraduate research assistant to support an education research project focused on teaching and learning in STEM classrooms. The student will review classroom video recordings and use established observation protocols, including the Classroom Observation Protocol for Undergraduate STEM (COPUS), to identify and categorize instructor and student behaviors during class sessions. Additional opportunity to develop AI models that assist with coding.

The Office of Undergraduate Research's Fall Undergraduate Research Festival (FURF) is held in celebration and recognition of undergraduate researchers' contributions to research, scholarly, and creative work at the University of Iowa.
