Information for Judges

The success of our FURF and SURF events is largely based on the many judges that provide feedback to the student presenters. Our events are a valuable opportunity for students to gain and improve their research communication skills, and your part is to encourage and help them strengthen these skills. 

If you would like to become a judge for SURF, please use the link and fill out an interest application form. You may choose to evaluate for more than one session. 

Event Logistics

Judges are asked to check in in 2520D UCC at least ten minutes before their session begins. Sessions will be assigned prior to the event, and you will receive an email from the office with additional day of information. All scoring will be completed online, be sure to bring your phone or tablet!

SURF Poster Presentations

Judges will be assigned posters at random. Bring a device (ex: smartphone/tablet) to fill out the judging form online.

SURF Exhibition Hall

This year, we are offering an additional space for students to display three dimensional objects from their research and creative projects. Judges will be assigned posters at random. Bring a device (ex: smartphone/tablet) to fill out the judging form online.

Notification of Judging

Judges will receive a notification with procedures and times closer to the event.
