What is "Research"? Not limited to the sciences!
This is the most common question we hear. We start by saying it is not limited to Natural and Social Sciences, but extends into Arts, Humanities, and Business too! The Council on Undergraduate Research says that research is:
An inquiry or investigation conducted by an undergraduate student that makes an original intellectual or creative contribution to the discipline.
Basically, it is asking questions and creating new information. IN ANY DISCIPLINE. Can we stop this protein from aggregating? How can I express the complications of this social construct through mixed media sculpture? What are the key features of a successful treaty? Students take on questions like these in their research settings. Read on to find out WHY they do this.
