Lead Faculty: Dr. Donna Santillan
We are seeking undergraduate students that are interested in women’s healthcare to assist with our Women’s Health Tissue Repository (WHTR). The WHTR collects biological samples from patients along with relevant clinical data to facilitate women’s health research.
An undergraduate student’s primary responsibility would be attending OB/GYN clinics and obtaining informed consent from potential study participants. Students will also assist with preparation of biological samples for storage. Additional duties may include: entering clinical data, performing lab maintenance, (e.g., autoclaving, restocking supplies, washing labware), and general office work (e.g., photocopying, running errands, assembling consent packets).
Qualifications:
A current undergraduate student that is preferably a sophomore/freshman. Strong communication skills and ability to interact with patients in a professional manner. Has an interest in women’s health research.
Time Commitment:
4-8 Hours per week
Compensation:
Volunteer (Optional registration for URES:3991 or URES:3992 0-credit transcript recognition), Academic Credit (1-4 Semester Hours)
