Project and Position Details: The NeuroBank Core Lab is seeking undergraduate students to support exciting research in spatial biology and human brain studies. This includes working with clinical specimens across various levels, from submolecular and cellular analysis to whole tissue and organ research. This position offers a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of scientific research and get involved in groundbreaking work to prepare your future medical or graduate schools.
As an undergraduate research assistant, you'll gain hands-on experience and valuable training in basic laboratory and time management, scientific skills, and cutting-edge biomedical research techniques from various samples and professionals. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting lab operations for both animal and human research projects
- Assisting with the maintenance of lab equipment and records
- Helping with general lab upkeep and cleaning
- Facilitating sample and data collection, transfer, and analysis
- Handling histological specimens and preparing reagents
- Capturing microscopic images
- Participating in outreach events and workshops

Qualifications: detail-oriented and have completed courses in Molecular Biology, Neurobiology Laboratory, Human Physiology with Laboratory, or other related.
Time Commitment: 4-10 hours per week. Must be willing to commit to at least 4 hours per week.
Compensation: Volunteer (Optional registration for URES:3992, 0-credit transcript recognition), Pay, To be determined
Start Date: Near future, Fall semester, Spring semester, Summer semester
Timeline: Ongoing, potential to be a continuous position
