Effects of Carbon Fiber Bracing on Patient Outcomes
Project and Position Details
Research assistants will have the opportunity to work with study participants who use carbon fiber custom dynamic orthoses (CDOs) for a number of conditions (e.g. traumatic lower limb injury, Charcot Marie Tooth Disease). Lab procedures include biomechanical gait analysis sessions using motion capture cameras and force plates, physical performance measure testing, creation and application of study questionnaires, mechanical testing of CDOs, and data processing and analysis. A commitment of 10hrs per week (between 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday) is expected each semester. For more information of the HPCO lab please visit the HPCO Lab Website.
Qualifications
Experience with basic research methods or coding (e.g. MATLAB) is preferred but not required. Non-STEM majors are also encouraged to apply.
