Project and Position Details
We are looking for an undergrad student interested in medicine or medical research. The duties include performing studies on mouse models of human diseases which cause blindness. We are treating the mice with gene therapy or small molecule therapy, and the undergraduate research assistant will be part of the team that does testing to determine whether treatment is working. In addition to my basic science translational research lab, I see patients in the Department of Ophthalmology and I also run the human electrophysiology laboratory in the Department. Undergrads who work in my lab have the opportunity to observe human studies being performed and in some instances to analyze human data.
