Himanshu Jangid
My lab studies translational regulatory mechanisms in the heart, specifically RNA regulation, and various genes associated with cardiomyopathies. We also explore potential therapies for these conditions. My current projects involve designing and screening CRISPR guideRNAs to create conditional knockout mice and characterizing the function of stress granules in the heart. I love my research because I get to explore specific cellular mechanisms—genetics and gene therapy are just so fascinating!
Outside of research, I adore photography, cooking, philosophy, and spending quality time with my close friends and family. I’m also an avid runner and lifter. National Parks are my go-to trips, and I’m the biggest fan of Heyn’s chocolate mint chip ice cream (so what if it tastes like toothpaste?!).
