Fellowships
Fellowships are student support awards intended to facilitate a specific student’s participation with a mentor on a defined project. Applications should be developed collaboratively by the mentor and student, with some parts written together and others individually. Fellowships are available for the summer or academic year.

Research in the Capitol
Each year, 20 students from each university bring research posters to display at Iowa's Statehouse. Students use their posters as a backdrop to discuss their work with Iowa's legislators. This event also allows students to practice discussing their work with officials, outlining the community/global impact, educational benefits, and importance of their research. Research in the Capitol will be held on March 31st, 2025.

Quick Pitch Challenge
The Office of Undergraduate Research Quick Pitch Challenge (QPC) is a communication competition that challenges undergraduate students to present their research or creative work to a general audience in three minutes. Participants from all majors and areas of study are invited to showcase their work on campus. Clear communication is key in professional settings, and you can also compete for prizes!

Spring Undergraduate Research Festival
The Spring Undergraduate Research Festival (SURF) is a bi-annual, low-stress platform for undergraduate students to practice communicating their research, scholarly, and creative work to a broad audience. Any undergraduate involved in research can present their work, and receive feedback, making SURF an excellent preparation for conferences and professional development. SURF will be held Wednesday, April 30th, 2025.
