Research assistants will have the opportunity to work with study participants who use carbon fiber custom dynamic orthoses (CDOs) for a number of conditions (e.g. traumatic lower limb injury, Charcot Marie Tooth Disease). Lab procedures include biomechanical gait analysis sessions using motion capture cameras and force plates, physical performance measure testing, creation and application of study questionnaires, mechanical testing of CDOs, and data processing and analysis.

Responsibilities will vary based on student interests and schedule but may include, collaborating on original music with an incarcerated songwriter, creating music videos for original songs collaborating with various artists, build social media campaigns and more.

This hands-on program emphasizes learning by doing and does not require prior experience in hardware, instrumentation, electronics, programming, 3D fabrication, or data analysis.
