How many hours are ICRU Fellows required to work?
- Academic Year Fellows are asked to put in 8-10 hours of work into their Fellowship per week. Fellows are NOT expected to work during Finals Week or breaks.
- Summer Fellows are asked to work 18-20 hours per week over the course of 10 weeks.
How is funding disbursed (how do I get paid)?
OUR Fellowship funding is disbursed within four weeks of the start of the term, contingent upon completion of the mentorship agreement in ICON. Students are highly encouraged to reach out to their financial aid advisor before accepting a fellowship to see what impacts this award may have.
OUR submits funds directly into the student's Ul account through the UI scholarship portal. In adherence to regulations, the Ul will first use the funding to cover any UBill balance. The rest will be refunded to the student electronically as a direct deposit. Students who have scholarships meeting the estimated cost of attendance will not receive additional funds. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for questions regarding this policy.
Once disbursed, OUR has no further control of how funding is delivered. Issues with refunds should be directed to the Billing Office or the Office of Financial Aid.
OUR retains the right to cancel awarded fellowships if either the student or mentor withdraws from or fails to complete fellowship requirements. Please contact OUR immediately for concerns regarding the completion of or adherence to requirements.

How can I check my funding?
- Log in to MYUI
- In the gold bar across the top of the page, you need to select the 'Financial Aid & Billing' section.
- Once it opens the 'Student Finances', look to the right column named 'Finances and Billing'. The second item down is called 'Aid Disbursement'. Click the link.
- This will allow you to view your funds for the session that you select. Be certain to select the session you are expecting the funds for.
If you do not see your funds, or you are struggling to find them, please contact OUR. We can track when funding was disbursed and potentially refunded.
