Biography
I conduct research in Dr. Adele Stewart's lab in the Department of Neuroscience and Pharmacology. Dr. Stewart is particularly interested in the dopamine transporter (DAT) and how alterations of DAT dictate different neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases in a sex-specific manner. My project focuses on how different aspects of diet, for example fat, alter DAT through various mechanisms and what the behavioral implications may be.

Outside the lab I enjoy drinking cortados, running, and hanging out with friends. I'm also a part of the olympic weightlifting club at Iowa and served as the vice president during my sophomore year. Research allows me to be constantly asking new questions and forces me to adapt when faced with adversity; it's truly a profession unlike anything else.
