Biography
I’m a Research Assistant in the Psychiatry and Early Neurobiological Development Lab, studying placental and brain outcomes in offspring after knockout of placental Igf-1, and evaluating placental phenotypes in a 16p11.2 microdeletion model linked to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). My interest in developmental disorders began through my involvement in Best Buddies, a club that pairs individuals with and without disabilities to build friendships and promote inclusion. This experience allowed me to understand the day-to-day challenges individuals with developmental differences face while also making me more curious about what causes these conditions. I am fascinated by the research aspect of neurodevelopmental disorders—understanding how early developmental changes shape long-term outcomes—and how that knowledge can one day make me a better physician.

I'm a pre-med student who enjoys volunteering and working as a CNA at a nursing home back home in Illinois. I genuinely love spending time with my residents - they've taught me so much and never fail to brighten my day. Outside of that, I enjoy reading, yoga, tennis, pickleball, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family.
