Biography

I conduct research on how epithelial cells - cells lining the organs - derive the energy they need to reinforce their cytoskeleton when shear stress is applied to them. I truly enjoy my research because it allows me to apply the knowledge I gain in class to real experiments, and it sustains an intrinsic passion for curiosity and discovery that I’ve always had. It also brought me many friendships and life experience that I would not have found in other opportunities.

Outside of research I love playing soccer; I’ve played my whole life and am still playing at Iowa as I’m a practice player for the UI Women’s team. Otherwise, I really enjoy visiting art museums, traveling, reading, hiking, and watching movies with friends.
