OUR holds that all undergraduates involved in research and creative inquiry should be considered valuable, professional, and respected members of the University of Iowa Research Community. Undergraduate research is a highly beneficial, formative experience for students at the University of Iowa. With the right implementation, it also benefits the University's research mission and that of the career-level researchers on campus.  

OUR exists to ensure that University of Iowa undergraduate researchers equitably experience the full, positive benefits of their research involvement. With the understanding that true equity eradicates discrimination, lack of diversity, and hostile work environments, OUR has committed itself to actionably working toward the assurance of equity in the University of Iowa Research Enterprise.

We welcome all suggestions, anonymous or otherwise, of goals to include or methods to reach them. OUR cares deeply for the University of Iowa research community and will do only work that improves the experience for all members.
