Mohana Sunkara

OUR Ambassador
Biography

I work in the Pappajohn Biomedical Discovery Building in the Pezzulo Lab. Our research focuses on how the epithelial cells that line the airways of our lungs behave in health and in chronic lung diseases.

Research has allowed me to bridge my knowledge from the classroom to the real world which I appreciate. I have been able to venture through my curiosity make a difference in a field I am passionate about. I enjoy working and problem solving with professionals to answer the unknown. Through my experience so far, I have learned that science worth studying may have a high likelihood of failure, however the growth through that process, both scientifically and personally is unmatched.

Outside of research, you may find me playing tennis, volunteering at the hospital, going on walks, or spending time with family or friends.
