Biography

My research lab is headed by Dr. Gordon Buchanan, in the Neurology Department. We study Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). Specifically, I am studying the possible role of corticosterone in seizure-induced death in amygdala kindled mice.

I love the curiosity and resiliency that comes with the field of research. Every discovery, whether it's a failure or success, leads scientists down a new path. Finding the light in times of failure is an important skill in and out of the research world, so I appreciate the opportunity to constantly improve the way I handle challenges.

Outside of research you can find me playing the clarinet, spending time with my friends and family, or going for walks! I also like to watch tennis and listen to a wide variety of music throughout the day.
