I am from a small town in Indiana and came to the University of Iowa for the writing program. I mainly write in the genre of 'weird fiction' (supernatural, magical realism, horror, fantasy) and speculative fiction but enjoy exploring poetry and creative nonfiction as well. My hobbies include playing music, reading, hiking, and stargazing. I have been playing piano for over ten years and am currently learning how to play the organ. 

At Iowa, I like to get involved in opportunities that allow me to meet new people and share my love for language, including volunteering with the Conversation Center and the IYWP. In the future, I hope to work as an English teacher, living in many different countries, learning languages, and experiencing different cultures. I also hope to become a published writer/translator someday.
