Biography

I work in the Ince Lab researching the mechanisms through which parasitic worms reduce the incidence of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) after bone marrow transplantation. GVHD occurs when donor immune cells attack recipient cells. Specifically, I work to determine what specific cytokines and molecular pathways are activated leading to the diminished GVHD response.

I am interested in pursuing an MD-PhD program, with my eventual goal being to become a transplant surgeon researching in the field of transplantation immunology.

I am also the President of the Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) and the Academic Director for UIBIO. In my free time, I like to color in my anatomy coloring book and play with my dog.
