Biography

I'm a Psychology major with a Chemistry minor on the Pre-Medicine track. I am also doing both University Honors and Honors in the Psychology major. I work in the Cognitive Comparative Lab in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Ed Wasserman and Dr. Leyre Castro. Our research concerns the experimental investigation of cognitive processes in adaptive behavior, with an interest in comparing cognition in humans and nonhuman animals. Specific research topics include category learning, cognitive flexibility, and same-different conceptualization.

Being a student research assistant has given me the opportunity to work on important collaborative and experimental skills and engage with research more than I could have inside a traditional classroom. ICRU has given me the chance to present my work at their research festivals and connect with other students interested in research.

Outside of ICRU I am also in a Pediatric Neuromuscular research lab under Dr. Kathy Mathews at the UIHC.
