My research is investigating the practices and perspectives of off-campus undergraduate students related to food security and access to food resources. I have sent out surveys to students at the University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College and am currently conducting interviews to gain insight into the variability of barriers affecting college students throughout the Iowa City/ Cedar Rapids corridor.

This independent study has allowed me to expand my expertise within a field that I hope to pursue a career in. It has strengthened my knowledge of existing literature and needed research for food security, something that I have been passionate about for many years, and I look forward to the analysis and dissemination of my data in Spring 2024.
