Ann Gaughan

Biography

I am a third year Human Physiology (BS) student with a certificate in Clinical and Translational Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. In the past, I have worked with Dr. Dale Abel in Internal Medicine, and with Dr. Josalyn Cho in Immunology. Currently I work with Dr. Shima Yasin in Pediatric Rheumatology. My research focuses on collecting patient data to  develop better treatment protocols for treating Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis (CRMO)- a rare bone disease in children.

I have always enjoyed being challenged and problem-solving. Being in research has allowed me to use those critical thinking skills and apply them to different areas that I am interested in such as medicine.

Outside of research, I am actively involved in Medicus as the Mentorship Director, and in Mobile Clinic. In my free time, I enjoy being my with friends and family, tackling new DIY projects, and playing golf.
