Biography
I work in the Medical Education Research Facility (MERF), conducting research in an Immunology lab directed by Dr. Jon Houtman. My main focus is T-cell activation specifically from Glycerol Monolaurate. This research has allowed me to read, write, and understand data, become a better problem solver, and develop a positive outlook on being wrong (seeing as a lot of science is all about failure).
Besides research, I take a lot of time watching tv shows, listening to, and reading books, and spending time with my family. I volunteer/work at the University of Iowa General Hospital, and I spend a lot of time in various organizations such as the food pantry, MAPS, and acting as president of the organization Humanities in Medicine at Iowa.
