Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience and knowledge in a human brain bank and a research core facility?
The goal of the NeuroBank Core is to facilitate human brain research and technology development at the Iowa Neuroscience Institute. You will assist with research biospecimen collection, data management, and analysis of human specimens, including microscopic imaging, and digital pathology, organize and maintain databases containing biospecimen and clinical information, STEM outreach programs, and work with cross-functional teams, including operating room staff, pathology, and investigators interested in tissue from the departments of pathology, neurosurgery, neurology, and psychiatry.
Qualifications
- Enthusiastic and curious sophomores
- Works well with a variety of individuals and groups while appreciating the unique contribution of individuals from varied cultures, nationalities, genders, ages, etc.
- Potential to work in summers • GPA of 3.3+.
Time Commitment
10 hours over the course of a week.
