Project and Position Details
We investigate consequences of trauma such as loud noise or ototoxic compounds to the nerve cells of the ear, focusing on protection and restoration of hearing and on inflammatory and immune responses. Students will learn modern techniques of neurobiology, including tissue culture, histology, confocal microscopy, quantitative analysis of digital images, cell biology, and neuropharmacology. Students will read papers relevant to their research and participate in lab meetings and discussions of their experiments and results with senior members of the laboratory.

Qualifications
Introductory biology courses are required. Preference will be given to students with prior lab experience or coursework ion neurobiology, but that is not required.
