Project details
Dr. Jian Zhang's lab in the Department of Pathology (ML 1160) is looking for two motivated undergraduate research assistants to assist with various tasks in within the lab.
These positions are for up to 15 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.

Duties for the position include:
1. Assist with lab organization, general maintenance, and upkeep, including preparation of buffers, autoclaving, and dishwashing.
2. Candidate will get hands-on training of basic cell and molecular technical skills including cell culture, DNA extraction and PCR for mouse genotyping, and is expected to assist with those tasks to support other lab members.
3. Data collection, data recording and entry, and basic record keeping.
4. Assist with other non-technical duties as assigned by management in support of the goals of the lab.

Qualifications 
Required Qualifications include:
1. Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, organize priorities, and work independently to meet deadlines.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Ability to work well within a cohesive team.
4. Ability to learn and perform lab procedures as well as follow oral and written instructions accurately.

Desired Qualifications include: Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not required.
