Interested in gaining skills in policy/social science research? Would you like to take part in a summer program that provides you with a definable, mentored, collaborative introduction to team-based research?
The Public Policy Center’s (PPC) inaugural Summer Policy Research Institute will begin on either June 22 and run for 6 weeks.
This Institute will not to conflict or interfere with your existing research if you are already involved, and if you aren’t involved yet, will give you valuable experience to build your skills.
As part of the Policy Research Institute, you will:
- Receive a PPC Student Research Fellow appointment
- Be part of a weekly seminar on identified policy research topics
- Learn basic policy research skills such as:
- Research and the scientific method
- Quantitative research
- Qualitative research
- Human Subjects protection
- Grant writing
- Participate in guided weekly sharing of research activities with other student fellows
- Develop a policy brief that will be published on the PPC website
- Receive financial support for the 2 hrs/week that you participate in the seminar and sharing of research (covered by the PPC)
