Project and Position Details
The student will contribute to the analysis of student responses to the 2021 SERU (Student Experience in the Research University) survey: seru.uiowa.edu. The student will analyze open-ended responses to survey questions which ask students to identify meaningful learning experiences, ways they have personally developed during their time as students, and what has helped them succeed in spite of obstacles they have faced. The goals of this project are to identify common themes represented in student responses, examine themes in relation to student background characteristics, and identify ways in which pandemic conditions played a role in student perceptions of their experiences.

Experience or coursework in using qualitative research methods
