Project details
Are you interested in gaining hands on experience and knowledge under the mentorship of nursing research experts? We are seeking three students to work under the following mentors:
Dr. Catherine Cherwin: Dr. Cherwin’s research involves investigating symptoms in people with cancer, with a focus on gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms. People with cancer often have many severe and bothersome GI symptoms that impact their daily life and ability to complete treatment. Dr. Cherwin’s work explores how and why co-occurring GI symptoms arise including an exploration of the influence of the GI microbiome.
Dr. Chooza Moon: Dr. Moon’s research involves investigating sleep, circadian rhythm, and neuropsychiatric symptoms in aging. Her lab focuses on finding the consequences and determinants of sleep and circadian rhythm disruptions in aging and in chronic diseases. Dr. Moon’s long-term goal is to develop individualized sleep interventions to alleviate some of the detrimental consequences of aging.
Dr. Wen Liu: Dr. Liu’s research is a behavioral clinical trial that focuses on implementing a training program to teach long-term care staff skills and strategies to engage residents living with dementia in mealtime. This summer Dr. Liu will be investigating whether the training program is feasible, acceptable, and useful for staff in optimal mealtime care.
