Research Topic
The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics is seeking a student to join our Psychosocial Oncology team! This position will be research focused. 

Project and Position Details

• Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify Quality improvement (QI) projects of focus to align with psychosocial oncology standards of care
  • Gather information from patients and families related to specific QI projects
  • Assist with record review
  • QI project data collection by getting patient information from EPIC and importing it into REDCap
  • QI project data analysis through the use of the data dictionary from the database
  • Assist with manuscript writing and submission
  • Review existing literature on education topics of interest
  • Compile information to simple one page handouts for patients and families
  • Work with institutional committees to confirm readability and appropriateness before finalizing
• Cross-training for other psychosocial oncology project work:
  • Write and manage IRB protocol for database
  • Consent patients for research purposes
  • Assist with patient record reviews
  • Enter data into REDCap database
  • Integrate database with existing data

Qualifications
Critical Thinking, EPIC Systems, Information Organization, Quality Control Analysis, Reading Comprehension, REDCap, Writing 

Time Commitment
10 hours per week
